When the shoot of an SCM production is complete, the work required to bring it your computer has only just begun. The post-production process takes at least a week of non-stop work. Between writing the essay, editing (and re-editing) the video and preview, and sorting the stills and selecting images for the article, it's a several dozen of hours process to get that one perfectly packaged 30-45 minute video to your viewing screen.

Add in the need to recruit new models, meet new models, market the site, and deal with customer service issues and it's easy to see how I could (and do) get swamped.

Not wanting to lessen SCM in any way, I thought long and hard about what I could do to add to the site while not changing the bread and butter of what makes SCM different from the rest. Then it hit me: audition videos.

The requirements for an audition video are MUCH less than those for a full on production. No essay, far fewer stills, a quick shoot with fewer camera moves and less interview. A genuinely hidden camera further differentiates the audition videos from the full on production, and hopefully it adds something a lot of us enjoy. I sure hope so. It was harder than you could ever imagine to genuinely hide it... and even that failed initially.

Audition videos, too, will allow guys who aren't quite perfect SCM matches to still show their stuff and possibly become underdog favorites, coming back for a full length video or more.

And so all in all, it's a major Win-Win. The new, faster production schedule is here. What makes SCM different is gonna stay. Audition videos will simply give a little extra umph to your, uh, well, you know what you're going to do with them.

Have a great time, thanks for viewing, and if you see anybody you'd love to see more of, don't hesitate to let me know!
